Culture Night and Resource Fair

For Hispanic Heritage Month, we hosted our first Culture Night and Resource Fair. Parents and their children participated in the Roots & Recipe Contest. Everyone tasted the delicious dishes, enjoyed folkloric music and dancing, and learned about all the things our community offers. Community organizations presented their services to help families with immigration, housing, parenting, health, and wellness concerns, and after-school opportunities. It was a night where we built both new and stronger connections between our staff, students and their families, and members of our community.

Roots & Recipe Contest

Students and their families entered to participate in the Roots & Recipe Contest. More than a dozen families participated and we awarded the winners with prizes. The grand prize winner of the Roots & Recipe Contest was Ana and her 5th-grade son Isaiah. Congratulations to this family for their winning dish Tres Leches Cake (Three Milks Cake).
