Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership and Opportunity
In 2010, Inwood Academy for Leadership was born from a bold vision—to create an educational home where every child could thrive, grow, and lead. From the very beginning, we instilled core values—responsibility, integrity, caring, honesty, and restraint—knowing that these principles would shape not only strong students but also future leaders.
A Milestone Moment: Expanding to K-12
During our fifteenth year we reached an exciting milestone, one made possible by the trust and support of our families. In response to their needs, we expanded to serve students from kindergarten through high school graduation—ensuring we walk alongside them from their very first day of school to the moment they step across the graduation stage.
Personalized Education for Every Student
At Inwood Academy, we believe every student has unlimited potential when given the right support. With high expectations and personalized guidance, we empower over 900 students to rise beyond challenges and achieve success. We welcome ALL students, including those with special needs and English language learners, ensuring they receive the tailored resources to excel. Our commitment to equity runs deep—so much so that in 2009, our founder, Christina Reyes, successfully led the charge to amend New York State law, securing enrollment priority for English language learners in our admissions lottery.
Breaking Barriers, Redefining Success
2018 was a defining year. We proudly celebrated our first graduating class with a 95% graduation rate, proving that ambition and determination lead to real results. That same year, we broke ground on a brand-new high school campus and watched our students make headlines by winning the prestigious “Say Yes to the Prom” contest.
Today, 80% of our alumni are pursuing higher education, many earning full scholarships to top universities. Their success stories aren’t just numbers—they are proof that with the right support, students from our community can achieve dreams once thought impossible.
