30 Inwood Academy Students Enter High School Ahead of the Game
Nearly three-quarters of Inwood Academy’s 8th-grade students passed at least one Regents exam before entering 9th grade.
For 30 Inwood Academy Trailblazers, the first day of high school will begin with an impressive head start.
Before officially entering the 9th grade, these students successfully completed high-school-level assessments in Algebra I, Biology, and Spanish—demonstrating what can happen when students are given opportunities to challenge themselves early.
And they aren’t alone.
Across Inwood Academy’s 8th-grade cohort:
- 74.4% — 96 students — passed at least one Regents exam
- 47.3% — 61 students — passed at least two Regents exams
- 23.3% — 30 students — successfully completed all three assessments
That means nearly 1 in 4 students completed all three before their first official day of high school.
Starting High School With Momentum
The transition from middle school to high school is an important milestone. At Inwood Academy, students are entering this next chapter not only ready for what’s ahead, but with evidence that they can already rise to high-school-level academic challenges.
Early exposure to rigorous coursework gives students an opportunity to strengthen their academic skills, develop confidence, and begin seeing themselves as capable high school and college-bound learners.
For our Trailblazers, that preparation begins long before graduation.
Building Confidence Through Challenge
Academic acceleration isn’t simply about taking an exam early. It’s about giving students the preparation, instruction, support, and encouragement they need to tackle something challenging—and experience the confidence that comes from succeeding.
By entering ninth grade having already completed high-school-level coursework and assessments, these students can begin their high school journey with momentum and continue building toward future academic opportunities.

Students belong to a community that believes in their potential. They grow by taking on increasingly challenging opportunities. And they develop the confidence to lead their own academic journey.
Ready for What’s Next
On September 8, these students will walk through the doors of Inwood Academy High School as freshmen for the very first time.
There will be new teachers to meet, new classes to take, new friendships to build, and plenty of new challenges ahead.
But for these 30 Trailblazers, one thing is already clear:
They’re entering high school ready for what’s next.
