Overview

Our passion for sports is evident by the work of our scholar-athletes, coaches, and families to create an environment where the Inwood Academy values can be exhibited, tested, and proven by both the participants and the entire Inwood Academy community. Inwood Academy scholars have a variety of competitive sports teams they can try out for. The sports program motivates our scholars to work even harder outside the classroom and they develop a strong sense of school pride.

Trailblazer Mission

To empower and equip the students of Inwood Academy with the tools to be leaders in the community, develop character, and prepare them for college by supplementing academics through participation in athletics.

Athletic Policy

Our policy provides the needed accountability for our scholar-athletes: they are held to a specific standard of academic performance, behavior, and conduct in order to have the privilege of participating in a team sport.

Teams

Through team sports, scholar-athletes enhance their ability to work with others and develop leadership skills. Middle School and High School students have a variety of competitive athletic teams they can try out for in every season of the school year. Our athletics department builds partnerships across the city with programs like Beat the Streets NYC and Columbia University Athletics.
